FAQs about Ohto County

Is Ohto County real?

You aren’t going to like this answer. Yes, it’s real. Does that mean Ohto County has a physical fixed location? No. Can you search it up on Google Maps? No. Can you find it on Trip Advisor? Also No. Can you go walking through its forests? Yes, absolutely. Can you do so in the physical world of flesh and bone? No, of course not. Aren’t you just talking out of your ass then? Probably. But aren’t we are all?

Where is Ohto County?

Ohto County supposedly sits on the west coast of North America. On the Broken Coast, the presence of arbutus trees and western red cedar would suggest that Ohto County must be somewhere in the Pacific Northwest. However the plant life in the Kaketty River Region more closely resembles the everglades, and the plant life in the Lesser Hirvi Mountain Region is reminiscent of the Appalachian Mountains. Of course, Ohto County explicitly sits on the border between Shadowlands and the Bonelands, so nailing down a location is likely fruitless.

What happened to the Linna family?

Well that’s the question isn’t it? None of the Linna family have been seen for years. The Shadowlands are the lands of story, and stories like mystery. And since Ohto County has a full left foot in the Shadowlands, that mystery isn’t getting solved any time soon.

What happened to the Sundberg family?

They’re fine. Absolutely fine. The Sundberg family works primarily through the Sundberg family trust. But the Sundberg family hasn’t gone missing like the Linna Family did. Absolutely not. They are fine. Absolutely fine.

What happened to the Lighthouse?

Which one? We’re on lighthouse number five. Some have burned down. Some have even exploded. But nobody knows why. Well, nobody who’s talking anyway.

Has anyone ever escaped Ohto County?

Not to our knowledge, no. Newcomers arrive, and occasionally somebody disappears into the Lesser Hirvi Mountains never to return. Maybe they escaped. But there’s no evidence to confirm or deny it.

How does food get into the County?

Trains and lorries deliver shipments from the outside world. Though nobody is really clear on how this happens, and nobody has ever see the conductors of the trains or the drivers of the lorries. Come to think of it, nobody ever seems to unload the supplies into warehouses, Trains and trucks move across the landscape and the few warehouses the end of these supply lines fill up. But nobody is too clear on how it happens. And if they’re being honest, the residents of the county don’t like to think too hard or look too closely at the situation for fear that the shipments may stop if examined too deeply.

What happens to people on Isa Island?

They sometimes don’t come home. Like people wandering too far into the Lesser Hirvi Mountains. Like people fishing to deep in the lowlands of the Katketty River Region. Ohto County devours the unwary who wander too far.

What is the deal with the Karhu Stones Stones?

Nobody knows. Geology suggests that the stones did not come from the region. Cut and design of the stonework suggests that they stones came from old World Neolithic cultures. But the styling doesn’t match any known culture, with imagery reminiscent of English and Irish style standing stones, Scandinavian carved stones, and the Deer Stones of Mongolia. No part of the Karhu Standing Stones match any known region or culture. Nobody knows how they arrived in the region ahead of the Tyrfing Caravan on top of all the other mysteries. The Settlers apparently discovered the stones, rather than erecting them. Which is impossible. As there is no evidence of human inhabitation in the valley ahead of the caravan, there would have been nobody to raise the stones. Yet there they stand.
