I don’t sit down anymore. I collapse into chairs. I fall.
Why? Because I am exhausted. Because since 2016 (I know that’s earlier that it is for most people), life has been a cascade of crises. I fractured my ribs. My dog herniated a disc in his back. We entered a national quarantine due to a global pandemic. My wife’s endometriosis flared up to dangerous levels. Our roommate herniated a disc in her back. My dog had the dog equivalent of a heart attack.
It’s been a lot.
But outside my own life, things are also bad. New Delhi is so hot the air is dangerous to breath. Russia has invaded Ukraine. Syria is executing dissidents. The GOP is trying to erase the existence of trans people. The UK has criminalized protesting too loudly. And they are still making Harry Potter movies.
I am exhausted. How are you?
