An Empire In Decline

So I feel obligated to talk about the leaked Supreme Court decision on Roe V. Wade. This is a fascist theocratic power move of course. And I am opposed to it. This should be no surprise. If you expected GLORIOUS LEADER to be anti-abortion, you haven’t been paying attention. What I want to point out is that this inevitable in the Hungry Empire. The Empire has to be pro-birth, even pro-forced birth. The Empire seeks to grow. “Go force ye and multiply and dominate the earth and subdue it.”

The Empire is fundamentally feudal. All who are not nobility are serfs. And the nobility needs more serfs to work the land, serve their meals, and fight their wars. These people aren’t going to be in favor of anything that allows women to choose not to give birth. This is why they are also anti-birth control, even going so far as to prosecute women who miscarry. They need more serfs. They always need more serfs.

I think it is no surprise that the United States is back sliding now. The United States is an empire in decline, and empires in decline flail wildly as they seek to forestall their decline. They start wars they shouldn’t to prove they are still strong. They give fascists a place at the table, hoping the fascists will deal with the rising tide progressive rights. They try to secure power and wealth into the fewest number of hands possible, like rats preparing to flee a sinking ship. They try to roll back the clock to eras where the nobles had more power.

They have no choice. This is who they are. They are a dying monster. But a dying monster is still dangerous.
