Mondays, am I right?

So it is Monday, and I am considering what I should write this week. I have the Jimquisition on in the background. Because I like messing with the ability to manage multiple stimuli. Sometimes this helps. Sometimes it is excruciating. But here I am.

I have been working on a system of long term planning for myself. I am aiming to reverse engineer the system into something generic once I have it finished. And I will be making it available to my loyal freethinking cultists at some point in the future.

On a different note, I’ve been listening to Musas: Un Homenaje al Folclore Latinoamericano en Manos de Los Macorinos, Vol 1 recently, and I will link it below.

I’ve been thinking about problematic faves lately as well. I have quite a few problematic faves. I am a fan of the comedy of the former Top Gear trio of Clarkson, Hammond, and May. I am also a huge fan of of the work of Warren Ellis. I am not a fan of Warren Ellis’ behavior vis-a-vis women. And I am not a fan of a great many of Jeremy Clarkson’s comments about many many things.

But I thought about the fact that I often find myself considering my problematic faves. But I rarely find myself considering my unproblematic faves. So here are a few of my unproblematic faves. I love the art and writing of Mike Mignola. I am a great fan of Digger, the webcomic, and its creator Ursula Vernon. The last Daniel Quinn, author of Ishmael may be the most influential writer upon my entire life. Another unproblematic fave is the brilliant and amusing Sandi Toksvig: host of QI and film personality. The late Eugen Burger is one of my favorite close up magicians. I have others, of course, but this seems sufficient for the moment. So I will end it here.
