What do you mean Magick?

If you’ve been noodling around the website you may have notice the references to magick, Magick with a k. You may even have noticed the whole bloody section about Magick. With a k.

And if you are a reasonable modern individual you may be wondering what I am smoking.

And the answer is nothing.

Magic (with or without the k) precedes science. Magick is how humans interacted with the oblique and obscure before the scientific method was developed. Much of the magickal arts did not survive the birth of their shiny new rival. But some of it did. The trick is to figure out which parts work.

After all, as Phil Foglio noted in Girl Genius: “‘Any sufficiently analyzed magic is indistinguishable from science!'”

Oh and read Girl Genius Online. It’s a load of fun.
