Running out of time

At this point I am starting to wonder about the elite Democrats. I am wondering if they wouldn’t prefer to be a captive opposition to an ascendant GOP, rather than an active party in a functioning democracy. I am starting to think that the Democrat elite values their privilege over the maintenance of a free society. What does one do, when the only alternative to fascism in government has staked their claim as an ineffective faux opposition? What does one do, when the options are authoritarian christofascism and ineffective elite oligarchy? The system has ceased to function. The only purpose it serves is as a holding action to prevent full collapse while a new system struggles to be born.
