Consequences

The Republicans appear to be circling the wagons. They clearly believe that if the FBI, led by a Republican Director, will raid Trump’s property, then none of them are safe. They clearly all believe that they have done things that could lead to jail time if those things come to light. They are terrified. They are terrified that they will be held accountable in the same way that the serfs are held accountable. They are terrified that consequences might be imminent.

Conservatism is the belief in aristocracy. Conservatism is the belief that some people are better than others. Conservatism is the belief that some people should be immune to consequences. Conservatism is anti-democratic in its soul, and we are seeing that now as the Republicans sense that democracy make hold them accountable.
