I don’t know where I heard this quote, and my attempt to google it produced no answer. If anyone knows the source, I would be grateful. But I still wish to speak about the meaning of the quote to me, even without knowing its source.
I would like to think of people having a net worth. I don’t mean this in terms of money, but in terms of dependability. When I consider doing things with friends, I take into account their punctuality. I further consider their reliability when I make plans. I know how likely it is that somebody will be on time, how likely they will be to cancel, and I notice trends. Some people are becoming more reliable, some are becoming less reliable. Some people can be counted on for important things, but let social or casual things slide. And so forth.
I am musing here. I have no real conclusion to this. Just thoughts.
