I do not believe that representational democracy is democracy at all. Representational democracy reduces the grand idea. It turns ‘rule by the people’ into a prize fight. It creates a contest designed to create winners and losers.
I am support democracy- actual rule by the people. But I do not believe that the people or the idea of democracy itself is well served by the current representational form.
We need to look at a radical overhaul of the system. The current system works very well for bureaucrats. It works very well for business people. It works for politicians and pundits. It works for dictators and demagogues. The current system doesn’t work so well for anyone not nursing at its bosom.
