We imagine that we are immortal But history disagrees
People imagine that the afterlife ought to be paradise, at least if one is good and well behaved. But one is unable to leave the Afterlife in most mythologies. And that doesn’t sound like a paradise. That sounds like a prison. The Buddha argued that the only way to escape from this prison was to transcend it. But many people still make deals with petty Gods and Angels offering an afterlife with many lines of fine print to spoil the apparent paradise. Psychonauts should be wary when they find themselves dealing with Gods or venturing into the Afterlife.
