Basic Armed and Unarmed Skilled

Primary Goal 

To teach a transferable set of simple armed and unarmed skills. The goal is not to turn students into weapon masters. The goal is to teach broadly transferable skills that are easily learned, and to teach force multiplying tactics which will allow the applicant to survive against and triumph over more skilled and better armed opponents.

Pre-Requisite Achievements

• Fire, Flower, and Blade 

Sub Skills

• Basic Law of War 
• Basic Strikes
• Basic Defense 

The Achievement Requirements 

• Recite the Basic Law of War
• Learn and perform the Combat Forms
  • Demonstrate the Basic Strikes: Thrust, Chops, Draw Cuts, Bludgeon, Ranged Engagement 
  • Demonstrate the Basic Defensives: Dodges, Parries, Blocks, Retreats, Hide
