Ohto County

The Shallow End of a Bottomless Pool

– from the Ars Holistica

Ohto County

We live in a world of shadows. We live, not in the real world, but in a world built of stories and assumptions, dreams and desires, biases and blind spots. As you descend deeper and deeper into the world of meaning and magic, the world gets very strange. But just below the surface, floating in the shallows, lies Ohto County.

Named for the Lord of the Forest, Ohto County is mind palace (as all of these invented locations are) built as a transitional location where new adherents may play with new ideas safely. The Song of Seven is a transgressive and challenging set of ideas. And many interested individuals may find themselves overwhelmed initially when exploring our dangerous little world. Ohto County is the gateway, the safe place where new arrivals can decide if they truly wish to dive into the depths.

The Firebird Collective

And it is in this liminal realm that Firebird Collective has made their home. A group of occultists and mystics and revolutionaries, the Firebird Collective works to unseat the dominant psychic paradigm and replace it with something better. The organizations of the Firebird Collective are composed of readers and adherents just like you. And they are run by readers and adherents just like you. The School neither owns nor controls the organizations. Professor Harbinger is not the head of any of the organizations, because the organizations have no heads. These are leaderless organizations, autonomous and connected with each other only as it serves each local group. Nobody in the Firebird Collective swears allegiance to any leader or grandmaster. The loyalty of each member is to the better tomorrow they wish to build. And all work towards that goal in their own way.
