The Great Serpent: (The Doer of Deeds) I do what matches my morals and ignore what others may think of me.
Small minded cowards revel in enforcing respectability. Petty bureaucrats demand compliance. Neighborhood gossips relish in punishing creativity. Conformists wield peer pressure as a lance against deviations. Others will heap judgement upon your decisions every day. They will try to force you onto paths they judge acceptable. They will try to shame you into a coward’s life.
Do not accept their shame. Do not accept their judgement. Ignore their respectability politics. Disregard their gossip and their peer pressure. You will not find a life worth living in respectability. You will not achieve your dreams while bowing to peer pressure. Pharaohs and Popes have built a story that puts us to work building pyramids and cathedrals. Kings and CEOs have sold us a life filling their bank accounts and dying for their glory.
No. I do not accept this story. I do not accept this life.
I will live my own life. I will live according to my own code. I will live according to my own morals. I will ignore gossip and judgement. I will ignore peer pressure and respectability politics.
Not My Circus. Not My Monkeys
Old Polish Proverb
I will live my life. I will tell my story. Others may choose to spend their time complaining about my choices. I choose not to care. What others think of me is none of my business. I have a life to live. I will not live it by waiting politely.
