So Boris Johnson has announced his intention to resign, prompted by the resignation of 50 of his ministers at last count. What does this mean? To my mind, it means that the Conservative Party is hoping that ousting Johnson will satisfy voters. It means that they hope to use Johnson as a scapegoat, and hope to rehabilitate the party image with his removal. It is a piece of sleight of hand. Change the face at the front, while keeping the party the same. The more things change, the more they stay the same.
It worked last time with the removal of Theresa May. Never bet against the stupidity of conservative minded voters. They want to the oppressed. They just want you to be oppressed more than them.
